Absolutely! Our beginner level belly dance classes are designed to teach the foundation skills of Middle Eastern dance from the ground up. No dance experience of any kind is needed to be ready for this class - just an interest in trying something new and fun!
Just dress comfortably to move - yoga pants, a comfortable top and bare feet are perfect. Some students prefer to dance in socks. There’s no need to “bare your belly” to belly dance! But you can wear a crop top or sports bra if you like.
Every class starts with a gentle warm up to get us ready to move. Next, we break down and practice the movements in the class combination and put them together with music so from your first class, you are dancing!
Our classes are designed for students 18 and up. Our class community is very diverse with students of all ages from 18 to 60 and up. You are sure to meet people like you in class!
We believe you should dance in the body you have! You don't need to "lose weight" or "get more fit" before you can start to learn belly dancing. Unless a medical provider has advised you against physical activity, you should be able to participate in class. If you have an injury or physical condition you are concerned about, contact the instructor before class. Our teaching methods include modifications to make movements more accessible and safe for all bodies to enjoy.
Dance is always more fun with friends! On this page, you can register yourself for a free class. If you’d like to attend class with friends, please send them this link so they can request their own class. How many we can accommodate depends on how many open spots are available on any given date.
